My Spanish portfolio

I think my reading and writing in the language has improved a ton since the beginning of the class. My listening and responding (talking) is still a struggle for me. They talk super fast even when I ask them to talk slower. Or if I watch something in Spanish like a show I can’t watch it with English subtitles because I will only focus on the English words and ignore the characters speaking in Spanish. However, I found a strategy that I have used recently and I think so far it has helped a ton with my learning in this language, watching with Spanish subtitles to them speaking Spanish. Then I look up the unknown words, repeat those words and rewatch the episode I am on. I have found this super helpful with listening and reading. I still struggle with listening and then quickly responding but I just started this strategy at the beginning of this last week. Another strategy that I use is working everyday for at least an hour, this helps keep it fresh in my brain. I try to talk to myself in Spanish so that I can practice talking out loud. This strategy has only gotten me so far since I don’t have anyone else to talk back to me and ask me questions. When I hang out with my friends (they are Latin), I try to talk to them and hear them ask me a few things. This is still a struggle but has gotten easier with the more phrases and words that I have learned so far. Lastly the last strategy that I use is Dulingo, this helps introduce and refresh some of the things I have just learned.
